first time Mousebit user using Mac

Hello, Im using a mac with the bit torrent "vuse" and trying to download several files.  when the files are opened in the program, it doesn't download.  It says "0" peers, and "0" peers...and it's been this way since last night.. can anyone give me some suggestions why this isn't working...?  thanks!
 
As a little test to confirm figment34786 suggestion, try a download of something smallish that is obviously being seeded (say the Once upon a Christmastime or something like that).
If you still get zilch, check firewalls etc.
Are you downloading OK from elsewhere?
