For you windows users no need to pay major bucks for cinform when i found a free app to let you do scene detection. simply go to

although this app is pretty old .. this is what I use for capture too

old for you but i just my HDV hv30 4 months ago.
got cs4 as well master collection (hog on my system) and i have a mac copy i got to sell to. don't ask. hehehe
