Audio Restoration and or Repair.
« on: September 16, 2012, 09:41:00 AM »

I don't know any good programs which specialize in Audio Restoration and or repair. I only have Audacity and it's good for conversion, but I wish it was a bit better on restoration and repair.  Do any of you guys (and gals) have any suggestions?

iZotope RX 2
http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/rx/
You can download free trial versions of RX 2 and RX 2 Advanced where the trial limitation is you can't save the file.

ClickRepair and DeNoise are marvelous: http://www.clickrepair.net/  The latter is the best NoNoise software I've ever used, and I HATE NoNoise.

Out of the two, which should one start with if the two are too expensive to buy at once?

I'd say try the one with the free trial first.

ClickRepair and DeNoise have a trial period:

Trial period

ClickRepair and DeNoise have a 21 day trial period, after which license codes are required. They have separate licenses that are not interchangeable; be sure to purchase the appropriate license. ClickRepairRT is tied to ClickRepair and shares its trial period and license; similarly DeNoiseLF is tied to DeNoise. Equalizer is a free application and has no trial period.
